Citi Foundation Named as One of Micronesia's Leading Youth Service Supporters

Guam – The Citi Foundation has been named as one of Micronesia's leading youth service supporters by The Micronesia Youth Services Network (MYSN).

The MYSN, which runs programs to support homeless and runaway teens, is a network of non-profit community-based organizations located across Micronesia (covering Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, the Federated States to Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands).

The criteria for the "MYSN Top Ten Youth Service Supporters in Micronesia" award recognizes outstanding financial or volunteer contributions and strong partner relationships with a MYSN member group.

The Citi Foundation was nominated by Sanctuary, Inc., a MYSN member organization in Guam. Sanctuary highlighted the Citi Foundation's USD 20,000 grant to support the establishment of computer learning centers in their shelters. Thanks to the centers, at-risk youths in Guam are now able to learn and improve their computer skills.

Ms. Sarah Thomas-Nededog, Executive Director of Sanctuary, along with Board members of MYSN presented the award to Mr. Madhu Seshadri, Citi Country Officer, Guam.

"With the tremendous support from Citibank Guam and the Citi Foundation, we know we are not alone in helping families and supporting our community-building services. Thank you so much for the partnership," said Ms. Thomas-Nededog.

Mr. Seshadri said, "On behalf of Citi, we are very grateful for this recognition from the MSYN. As we continue to reinforce our partnership with Sanctuary, we encourage you to continue your initiatives and please feel free to approach us for more support through our employee volunteer program."

Sanctuary, Inc. provides a safe refuge for youths aged between 11 - 21 years of age. For over 35 years, Sanctuary, Inc. has been the sole private provider of services and a primary advocate for runaways, the homeless, abused and at-risk youths in Guam.
