Citi Costa Rica Volunteers Build Houses for Poor Families with Habitat for Humanity

Costa Rica – For a fifth year, Citi Foundation aids the organization, Habitat for Humanity, by means of donating money for the construction of houses for poor families. Each year, volunteers from Citi Costa Rica dedicate free time to build these houses, thus contributing to the decrease of the final construction cost of the housing project.

On Saturday, August 18, Citi volunteers and their relatives worked to give new hopes to those families who do not have housing, by participating in the construction of two houses in the province of Alajuela.

"Citi Volunteer Initiative is an essential part of our work. To support and benefit the communities which surround us is one of our top priorities," said Jorge Mora, Citi Country Officer, Costa Rica. "Our volunteers donate their time to the construction, education and many other activities which contribute to the social welfare of the country."

Construction of the two houses took place at the following address: De Pinturas Sur en la Agonía de Alajuela, 125 metros al este.

Citi volunteers will collaborate again with Habitat for Humanity in a seminar on family finances in September. These seminars are designed for families who have received housing benefits from Habitat.
